FIRST MAGIC (Ages 3-4) Designed for preschoolers ages 3-4. Students will learn creative movement, ballet and jazz. Students will also learn classroom etiquette such as raising your hand, taking turns & respecting others. This is a good physical activity to help coordination, rhythm and fitness develop as well as a great introduction to dance technique. The primary goal is to foster love of movement. The creative component is quite large. Several fun or special activities happen in each class. For example, a scarf or flag dance at the end can facilitate the dancer’s own physical expression. Taking part in dancing outa narrative helps children to understand that dancing is expression. It is a means of communicating feelings & actions.

UP & UP (Ages 5-6) Your child will be taught flexibility, arm placement, head alignment, rhythmic counting, stretching of feet, basic turn out and the foundation for Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Tumbling and performance.

INTERMEDIATE (Ages 7-8) Students will focus on intermediate technique and learn more advanced moves and choreography sequences. Students are highly encouraged to enroll in a Level 2 ballet class as well as jazz and/or tap.

JUNIOR LEVEL (Ages 9-21) Prior dance experience is not required for this level, however light training in some genres is a bonus, students will be trained and will perform at a junior level, preparing students for advanced classes. Alignment is refined. Barre stretch, ballet facings/directions and big jumps are introduced. The use of correct arms and heads (epaulement) is emphasized. These dancers should be able to perform a full barre, and some center steps and intermediate across the floor work. Center jumps such as sauté, glissade, changement, pas de chat should be familiar and performed properly.

SENIOR LEVEL (Ages 12 - 17) Prior dance experience in multiple genres, will be trained and will perform at an advance level. Technique and alignment are advanced, ballet terminology is increased and artistry is emphasized. These dancers should be able to perform a full barre, center, and across the floor with proper technique. Advanced dancers should be able to perform multiple, turned out pirouettes and maintain their alignment and turnout during exercises and combinations in class.
